In certain states in America, big corporations are now being sued on the basis of pushing out too much carbon. In a recent order in California, the State of California sued the collective world automobile industry for damages resulting from GHG and global warming relating to State-owned parks, beaches, and facilities including water storage and delivery systems and effects on public health and welfare. Could a similar South African class action succeed?
